The great guitar Drop!
I know most people that have seen me lead worship are used to seeing me on the keyboard, but for the last month I’ve been playing and leading from the guitar. It’s been a challenge to make the switch. I’ve always kind of played the guitar on the side but have never taken it seriously. But recently I’ve been working hard at getting better.
Okay back to the story. So I have a BEAUTIFUL Epiphone guitar that I’m in love with. This is the guitar I’ve been using when I lead worship. Well last Saturday I was in a rehearsal with the band from “The River Church” in Vista CA. Things were going pretty good when I went to make some adjustments on my mic. Just as both hands left my guitar I felt weight lifted from my shoulders! My guitar was free falling to the ground. I couldn’t catch it in time and my girl hit the ground! The cord jack punched a hole in the bottom of my AX! I’m not going to lie, it took Jesus to control my emotions. I was not happy with myself or the situation.
So I moved to the keyboard for the rest of the practice and later led from the keys. Monday morning I took my guitar into the shop to see if they could repair it. They seemed real optimistic that this was totally fixable. The last thing they told me was “We’ll make it so you cant even tell anything happened to it”. My fingers are crossed and I hope they’re right!
I find out the status in about a week, I’ll keep you posted.

Ouch! Such a pretty guitar too. I know how Matt feels about his gear. I hope your girl is better soon!
