Bring on the Munchkin’s

High School camp was a screaming success! Mind blowing & eye opening. Now we prepare for the little ones… Stage was set up last night and we’re getting things ready. I have to learn & teach 2 new kid’s songs to the band for tonight. By the way… How did we do camp without Interns?!!!

Dad was right…

This year, our SCY camp (Revolution) had a ton of hickups before any one had stepped foot on the mountain… We started planning way ahead of time to make sure that, “that wouldn’t happen”. But despite all our planning, everything was falling apart the week before camp. Ky & I were pulling double time to bring everything back together.

I did what anyone would do in a moment of need, I called my mom & dad. They served in this exact position when I was 6 years old. I explained to dad the stressful situation that I had been put into & the extra work load that had been dumped in my lap.

Dad began to ask me about last year’s experience, “spiritually”… I explained that it was really good camp but the alter response wasn’t what I had hoped for. I told him that the 08 camp had ran REAL smooth but lacked something in the alters. Don’t get me wrong, God was present last year & we had a blast but it just wasn’t “That Camp”.

After hearing all of this my dad said, well that’s what’s going on… I replied “what do you mean”? He said “you’re going to have a really spiritual camp”. He added “that’s why your being fought so hard on this. God is coming full force & the enemy knows it”.

Dad was right.

Last night when over 300 people were in the alters jumping, singing, praising, changing & receiving I leaned over To my wife and said, “This is that camp”.

And Just so you know, everything that fell apart, did come together before one student stepped foot on campus.

God? I think so.

PS Jules is the right speaker for this camp… He’s blowing us away!

Revolution night 2… High school

Last nights service was a turning point for the camp. God was crazy powerful through the whole session. Jules spoke on worship. He took the students through the process of worship. Anyone can praise and give thanks, but we have to take care of those secret things & be escorted by grace to the place of worship. Students began weeping before Jules invited anyone to the front for prayer. We ended up turning our sorrow to joy and danced the night away. To day Jules will be speaking his 1 & only morning session. He’ll be talking about a revolution in purity.

(The picture is washed out but you get the idea…). Will get some better shots of the stage today.

Revolution Opening night!

Last night was our opening night and it was electrict! This is the biggest camp Ky & I have ever had. Everybody hit their marks, the Interns ROCKED & Jules (our speaker) knocked it out of the park! We have a big day ahead of us so keep us in prayer.

Much love SCY!

PS here is a picture of our camp store set up… More pics on the way!

iLost

Apple_bluetoothYesterday Kylie and I picked up a TON of stuff for this year’s Summer Camp.  Among one of our stops we found ourselves at IKEA.  I was in a deep phone conversation using my bluetooth in the store.  The person on the line complained about not being able to hear me, so I switched to just the phone and stuck the bluetooth in my pocket.  I continued on the phone till we were in the car.  I then realized that I had to go hands free because of the CA state law concerning cell phones.  I reached  in my pocket and couldn’t find the bluetooth.  So I turned the car around and headed back to IKEA.  I thought I’d start in the parking lot (WHICH WAS HUGE)  I couldn’t really even remember what section I parked in.  So while still in this deep conversation I get out of my car and start looking for my bluetooth in the parking lot.  I looked for about 5 to 10 min. when way across the way I saw a little black thing in the road.  I don’t know how, but I found my bluetooth and it was completely fine.   It must have fallen out when I was getting my keys.  Bad things seem to happen to me, but always END UP in my favor.  Thanks God.

Feel so good about camp!

SCY CampWe’ve done all the planning we can do…  Now it’s time for God to take FULL control of this thing.  That’s when I start to get comfortable because I know it’s in GREAT HANDS!  I’m ready for something fresh, something exciting, something amazing…  I’m ready for a Revolution.  Keep Ky and I in your prayers.  Our Desire is that students would have the time of their lives!  We want them to look back and say “That was the camp where I really saw God”…  It’s funny because I refer to “That Camp” all the time.  The camp that changed me forever.  Buckle up SCY, I have a feeling God is coming to our Mountain.  Let’s welcome Him with open arms.

Season ends.

baseball-mitt-&-ballTonight I wrapped up my season with Legacy (Black).  We lost a tough one but I feel like I had a good night.  A walk, single and triplewith no errors and a couple of cool plays in the field including a double play with PT.  I also had some RBI’s.  Hope it’s not to long till I get to play again.

I will be bringing my mit to Camp.  Be sure and bring yours.

T-shirt Trailer

Using all the T-shirts that we’ve acquired from some of the youth groups in So Cal we created a little trailer to show UNITY and to promote this years Summer Camp REVOLUTION!

Would love to see your youth groups T-shirt in the next promo.  I did have some hoodies from other groups, but it was a “T-SHIRT” trailer…  ENJOY!

CAPTAIN EO COMING BACK TO DISNEY?

eo_posterGrowing up in Southern California was very cool.  Great weather, lots to do and close to Magic Kingdom!  I can remember going to Disneyland as a kid and being blown away by all the cool stuff they had in Tomorrow land.  Space Mt., Star Tours and CAPTAIN EO!

When Micheal Jackson Died one of the first places my mind went was to the 3D adventure that played at the Disney resort for about 10 years.  So today I went to http://captaineo.com/ to see if there was a site there.  Turns out THERE IS.  It’s an un-official site, but it brought back a ton of memories including the backing music that’s played when you first walk in.  SIDE NOTE:  That kind of attention to media detail would stay with me forever.

The site offered a petition to bring Captain EO to DVD.  I signed it but then thought, I would like to see a revival back at Disneyland.  I began to do some research and found out that I’m not the only one who thinks so.  The Orange County Register wrote an article about how this is becoming a growing demand.  Many people on networking sites are pushing for this attraction to make a encore performance in honor of MJ.

CONFESSION:  I actually had a Captain EO rainbow t-shirt when I was like 8.

WATCH CAPTAIN EO IN FULL.
