Attack of the Blog

45I have successfully blogged for 45 straight days.  I admit it wasn’t an easy thing to do.  It’s hard to try and keep things interesting from day to day.  I love to read your comments and hear your take on what has been written.  Please keep that up.  Don’t know how long I’ll keep up this streak.  I’m like Cal Ripken, just one day at a time.  Thanks for reading and commenting!

Spin (torture) Class

I went to the gym today and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I walked around the corner by the Spin Room…  First off Spinning is no joke.  I’ve done Spin before and when done right, it’s like one of most strenuous cardio routines you can participate in.

So today when I walked in I knew they must have been really cooking in there.  Check out the pic.  FOG ‘EM UP!!!

Rock Band & THE BEATLES!

I know that this is kind of old news, but I had to share the cool banner Beatles.com has promoting the game coming out in September.  It just has this image with the date on it and some background noise of the fab four tuning up, clearing throats and going over last min. instruction before laying a track.  Very cool.  Now I am a HUGE Beatles fan, and my office proves this above and beyond.  I don’t have rock band now,  but I will when this comes out.  beatles-rockband

UPGRADE!

computer-fun-001computer-fun-002Fix ItSo this was my day.  My Old Hard Drive had been lagging and acting up, it was time for an upgrade to fix the many problems I was dealing with.  So I’m running a Terabyte (1000 GB) on my primary drive and I still have my 500 GB secondary drive and an external drive running 250 GB.  I also upgraded to Vista.  So far so good.  I also upgrade my RAM.  I’m still going to make the leap to MAC when the time is right…  ($).  The goal is to operate and understand both MAC and PC.

The job isn’t over I still have some software to load and some settings to adjust.  I wanted to be sure to give a (HT) to Josh Gilson for helping me with some personal over the phone tech support.  He’s the man when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Learning to Rest.

burn-out

God’s timing is perfect in every way!  I heard a message today on REST.  It challenged me to get back to center.  I love to work and that’s good, but I need to learn to rest, spend quality time with Kylie and not neglect personal priorities.  God hasn’t called me to be spread thin.  So I will still commit to helping out churches, leaders and working for everyone I work for, but I will also commit to recharging the batteries and not biting off more than I can chew at one time.  I’ve often felt like the little kid who’s eyes were too big for his stomach and than sat their looking at a full plate.

I LOVE TO WORK!  It’s one of my favorite things to do.  I enjoy Leading worship, graphic design, web design, ministering to students and filming videos.  But I need to make sure that I re-group so I can always be at my best for God and others.  Jesus doesn’t want us to be under rested.  He said himself “Come to me, I will give you rest”.

It’s funny, we all know that rest is a natural part of life but we often book ourselves so tight that rest is an after thought.  I want to be the best version of myself, so I will work hard but also take the time to have fun with my wife, take vacations and REST in God, the place where stress and worry melts away.
