So on the way home from Arizona last weekend The sun was blinding, I didn’t have my sun glasses, so I had to wear Ky’s. Heading West at sunset isn’t very smart. It wasn’t funny, Ky on the other hand thought it was hilarious…
So yesterday after work we went to the Pumpkin patch with Mandy and Lucy. They were so excited to be out there it was funny. I’m that guy that I used to laugh at when I was 14… But I really had a great time. My favorite pic is the one where Lucy is hanging out of the cart…
This last month has been a “Banner Month”… Literally! I’ve been creating a lot of banners for different groups around the Nation. Yep you heard me right nation. These aren’t all of them but a few that I’m proud to display. It’s crazy how huge the file is for these banners. The actual size of most of them is 4 to5 feet tall and 10 to 12 feet long. If you or your group needs a banner you can see my design work above. Oh and 1 more thing. These are completely original from the vector to the lay out. I’ve even recently figured out the pixie dust trails made famous by Disney… What do you think?
Today Ky and I are heading to Arizona to speak at a youth conference. I’m pretty excited about it! We’ll be out of town till Sunday. I have a blog or 2 set to release while I’m gone, so check out the site the next couple of days! Hope everyone has a great day!
Yesterday I finished the design for the winter version of socalyouth. It’s ky and I’s favorite version of the site to date. It comes complete with Snow and Cool Winter camp downloads including wallpaper. The site is going to offer more in the near future. I want youth leaders to be able to download video promotions so they can show them to their students. Check out the site! http://socalyouth.com
So both Fall Impacts are over and Kylie and I are really happy with what we saw. First North: Although there were some churches that couldn’t make it we still had a good turn out. Ky and I could not have done it without Rocky, Carla, Bart, Lori, Chris and all the YP’s! Thanks guys. We rounded out to about 70 students! The green picture is the stage set up for North… Great group, GREAT NIGHT! Now South: This one was a lot bigger… Which is awesome because at these things in the past North has always dominated in numbers. Our official count for our South Fall Impact was 136! It might not seem like a ton but in the venue we were in it felt huge. We did have a problem before the service began though. Our VERY COOL GROUP from Vista came up pumped and ready… When they arrived Jordan the student below grabbed his skate board and tried to do a trick off of some stairs. Our leaders were inside accept for some greeters. Someone came and got me and when I got outside the paramedics were already on there way… Jordan broke his arm good. A total clean break. The good news was it happened like 45 min before service so there wasn’t a ton of people crowding him. The bad news is he had to have surgery. here’s the thing, this guy was a champ. He was calm, talking to us, not shedding tears of pain… NOTHING! If that was me I would be passed out. Hang in there Jordan we’re praying for you!
So I went to the gym today with Kylie and Jason and as we were stretching on the mats, I look to my left and there is Brittany Aberle From “The Biggest Loser Couples”… I knew she worked out at my gym but I had never seen her there. We went in the after noon today and usually I go in the mornings. Didn’t get a picture or anything THIS TIME… I didn’t want to strike up a conversation and not be prepared to get a picture… I’ll keep my phone closer to me next time so I can write a better blog about it. By the way she’s still going strong.
So I’m super excited that Tyler made it down for Fall Impact (South). He’s gonna play a little lead guitar for us. He came down last night and the 3 hour Drive only took him like 5 hours! That’ll happen when you miss your exit and head for INDIO CA! He passed right through Banning, Palm Springs and was on his way! So I call him he says “When did they put this hotel up?” I’m like what big hotel, He says “This really tall one out by itself with all the flashing lights? I was like, What?… Then I had him tell me what the next sign said. It read, 10 miles to Indio! LOL… The hotel was the big Casino out there… He needs GPS BAD! This is like the 4th time he’s gotten lost in the south-land…
So Saturday night we will be having Fall Impact (south)! Ky and I with a few leaders (Rocky, Carla and Tyler) have already done this event 2 weeks ago up north. We had about 70 students show up and a solid staff of help. We’re looking to Jam Banning tomorrow night! So all you south groups we can’t wait to see you. I already know of 4 groups coming for sure. This event is a great place to see friends from camp and to connect with God with other students. Also I’m excited because our website will be taking on a WINTER IMPACT theme after this event. It will be themed much like the site has been themed for Fall Impact! The look for Fall impact can be seen in the picture above. Can’t wait to see everyone there. Church Location can be found on socalyouth.com! Starts at 6:00PM. DON’T BE LATE!
