Walk Off!

WALK OFF!

Tonight I was at the Angel Game with Pastor Bob Howard’s Church and got to see the Angels get a WALK OFF WIN!  I have a ton of pics but I’m really tired from the day.  We had camp business in LA/Hollywood then we went to the game.  In the morning we’re doing some worship at NLC.  When I get back I’ll post pictures of this very LONG day!  But Just another Halo Victory!

Don’t Sit On Your Achievements

goals

I went to a graduation last night and something was said that stuck with me.  Someone said “No matter what you do in life, don’t sit on your achievements”.  That statement really engaged me.  I’m big on growing.  If fact, one of my statements to myself in the last year was “If you’re not growing, you’re not trying”.  I think that sometimes we don’t go the next mile because we’re sitting on our past achievements.  We’re not trying to grow for it because we’re basking in what we just did.  But what we need to understand is even though we may have just accomplished something in life, God is setting up a NEW finish line down the road.  What are you doing to grow as a person?  Grow for God?  Grow for yourself?  Hopefully you’re preparing for the next leg of the race.  We are capable of achieving so much; so why do we sit around?

 Okay…  I’ve been holding out on getting an iPhone because I knew the iPhone 2 was coming.  I read that it’s out next month.  For me that’s not soon enough.  My current phone is “A JOKE”!!!  Well in searching for info on the new phone I came across this video, thought it was funny.

Ventura Update:::

Yesterday Kylie and I were at our Ventura Church, Family Worship Center.  We had a great time!  But we almost didn’t make it.  On our way there we got slowed up because they shut down the 101 freeway.  Above you can see the mess we had to deal with and below you can see my reaction in the car.  You wouldn’t think on a Sunday morning at 9 AM that we’d have to deal with this, but it is CA, and we were in the greater LA area.  When we got there the people were outstanding, we felt right at home and got a chance to connect with some of the students there at FWC.

Indiana Jones Review

Indiana Jones

Okay let’s begin.

I overall enjoyed this movie, because it’s Indiana Jones.  I thought Harrison Ford was in great form and brought his A game.  Also I thought the Casting was well done.  There were moments where the movie got a little slow but it did pick up.  I did not however like the amount of CG effects in the movie.  It’s Indiana Jones, not Star Wars.  One thing that grabbed my attention more than other movies was the “PERFECT” lighting.  The use of color and light is genius in this movie.  The humor of the movie was there and I have no beef with any of the acting.  It did feel like an Indiana Jones movie.  The ending was the ONLY REAL THING that was a little too much for me to handle.

SPOILER ALERTS:::

I was not really happy with the ending of this movie.  I kind of knew early on that they were going there.  George Lucas and Steven Spielberg can’t stay away from Space themes, obviously.  I know that all the Indiana Jones Movies are a stretch, but this was a bit much, even for an Indy movie.  Space Men from another planet do not belong in this movie, I’m sorry.  But I will suck it up because for the most part I really enjoyed the movie.  It took me sleeping on it to come to this conclusion.  Last night I was not this forgiving.  But after thinking about it for a while, I’ll let this go.  After all It’s not like faces melting, stones glowing and people aging to death in a matter of seconds is realistic.

Oh one more thing, the ants…  This did not work for me.  Maybe if they were in an enclosed space it would’ve felt more threatening.  but I think they should’ve brought in REAL ants.  Too much CG.

It sounds like I didn’t like this move, but I did.  I’m just really hard on the details because I love the series so much.  I gave it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars.

Indiana Jones/Treasure

Indiana Jones
Tonight, Tim, Deder, Kylie and I are going to see Indiana Jones!  This is one of my favorite sagas.  Who knew looking for Treasure would be so much fun!!!  It reminds me of a scripture that says:  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

I got to thinking about where our hearts are.  Does your heart point to God?  If it does, then your treasures (Your Money, Talent & Resource) should point towards God.   People get so weird when it comes to God and Money.  But it’s nothing to feel weird about.  This is the way God’s word is spread to the world, by peoples hearts pointing towards God.  Is your Treasure God Centered, or Self Centered?  That’s how you’ll know where you’re at.

By the way Indiana Jones never keeps the treasure, he gives it to the museums.  That’s where his heart is.

Oh and Harrison Ford is still the man; I’m saying this before I even see the movie!  I’ll write my review of the movie in the morning.  PEACE!!!
