Okay let’s begin.
I overall enjoyed this movie, because it’s Indiana Jones. I thought Harrison Ford was in great form and brought his A game. Also I thought the Casting was well done. There were moments where the movie got a little slow but it did pick up. I did not however like the amount of CG effects in the movie. It’s Indiana Jones, not Star Wars. One thing that grabbed my attention more than other movies was the “PERFECT” lighting. The use of color and light is genius in this movie. The humor of the movie was there and I have no beef with any of the acting. It did feel like an Indiana Jones movie. The ending was the ONLY REAL THING that was a little too much for me to handle.
SPOILER ALERTS:::
I was not really happy with the ending of this movie. I kind of knew early on that they were going there. George Lucas and Steven Spielberg can’t stay away from Space themes, obviously. I know that all the Indiana Jones Movies are a stretch, but this was a bit much, even for an Indy movie. Space Men from another planet do not belong in this movie, I’m sorry. But I will suck it up because for the most part I really enjoyed the movie. It took me sleeping on it to come to this conclusion. Last night I was not this forgiving. But after thinking about it for a while, I’ll let this go. After all It’s not like faces melting, stones glowing and people aging to death in a matter of seconds is realistic.
Oh one more thing, the ants… This did not work for me. Maybe if they were in an enclosed space it would’ve felt more threatening. but I think they should’ve brought in REAL ants. Too much CG.
It sounds like I didn’t like this move, but I did. I’m just really hard on the details because I love the series so much. I gave it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars.
