EVERYONE NEEDS ONE

couch-potatoToday I did something I need to do more of…  Nothing.  I just had a great day with my family here at home.

Everyone needs one…  One of those days where you don’t even go outside.  Just stay in and watch movies.  Today I watched Australiaand Changeling both really good movies.  LONG, but good.  I did a few small projects around the house but nothing too heavy.  I think that we sometimes don’t allow ourselves to do nothing.  When we have a day off we do work around the house or we do something that isn’t restful to the body.  I get made fun of because I tell people I’m like an old man when it comes to days off.  I draw the drapes and yell at kids to get off my lawn…

On your day off what do you like to do?

My Mom

Terry V. with his momI just want to say HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to my mom!

She taught me: How to use logic, to never back down, to speak my mind, to branch out and to never stop advancing.

When I was a kid she:  Paid me to let her perm my hair, was my human blanket, introduced me to frozen grapes, made me sing, coached first flight (the singing group I was in) and took care of me when I was sick.

She nudged me to:  Propose to my wife, explore new avenues of ministry, push the envelope and to always be myself…

Thanks Mom for everything,  except the perm.

My Dad and Star Trek

OokaMom and Dad

Ooka manDad's Star TrekLast night we finally celebrated my dad’s B-day (as a family).  We went to Ooka then went to see Star Trek.  Dad (now 60) was so excited to see this movie.  He kept telling everybody about him being a fan in the 60′s.  He even gave me a play by play of every character in the movie during the movie.  To me this is all new, I always followed Star Wars, but I really liked the movie, a lot!  At the end of the movie when the narrator said the famous opening lines of the show, dad held up the “Live long and prosper” hand signal.  Afterwards he was on cloud nine, I think he wants to go to space now.  I snapped a pick of him in front of the Star Trek displayer.  Great time!  We need to do that more as a family.

This ride scared me to death when I was a kid.

I’ve decided that as we get closer to our SCY Knott’s fun day I’d show some footage of different rides from the park.  This was my very first rollercoaster.  My dad told me the ride line was the line for the bathroom.  Then he told me that we couldn’t get out of line.  What’s sad is, if I had a kid, I’d do the exact same thing!!!

My Baby’s Birthday is today.

kyMy beautiful Kylie is celebrating a birthday today!  I’m so grateful that this girl came into my life.  Seriously, I don’t know where I’d be if I hadn’t found her.  I’m going to steal a phrase from my dad…  “She makes my heart pump peanut-butter”…  Kylie is the type of girl that grows in beauty as time goes on…  That’s why I married her, I want to see the AMAZING finished product.  I couldn’t do life without her and I’m forever grateful for the wife I was given.

KY AND I…

LOVE OF MY LIFE!Today Ky and I celebrated 7 years of marriage!  I’m not kidding when I say this…  I am married to the best friend I’ve ever had.  She is everything to me and I still have a huge crush on her.  I’m blessed to have found someone as beautiful, talented, organized and thoughtful as she is.  We didn’t get to really celebrate because we were working, but the sec. work slows down we owe each other a night on the town.

I love you Ky and I can’t wait to spend another 7 years with you!

PS “Say Kiss”…

Things I love

  • TV's outSo last night I was relaxing watching TV when the cable went out.  So I decided to wait it out a bit, but when nothing changed I decided to go get on line to check the scores.  Well the Internet was out.  So I just began to entertain myself (this included dancing).  Then I started thinking of all the simple things that I love in life like:
  • Watching Baseball
  • Kylie’s laugh from the other room when watching America’s funniest home videos
  • How the dogs follow me around when I’m taking out the trash
  • The change in seasons
  • Really good Music
  • Kylie’s cooking!
  • little gadgets
  • Playing Drums
  • A good Scary movie
  • Disneyland
  • A clean house
  • Friendship
  • & how Kylie looks at me with those eyes…
