Top 5 worst Christian Alternatives.

Okay before I get into this I must get a few things clear.  First off, I’m a Christian.  But I have to admit… “THE CHRISTIAN CULTURE” That makes alternatives for EVERYTHING is pretty lame.  It seems that if there is a product out on the market that is trendy or successful,  “this culture” feels the need to make a watered down, lame copy with a God message.   It’s like we say  “Well we’re Christians, so we’re gonna need a Christian version of that”.

Anyways here we go…

My top 5 worst Christian Alternatives.

#5.  “Christian Chirp” the Alternative to “Twitter”.

http://christianchirp.com/

I’m not sure I even understand the concept of Christian Twitter.  I heard that if you’re “chirps” don’t glorify God you can be deleted.  Serious.

#4.  “The Champion” the Alternative to “Rocky”

Back in the day I liked Carmen Just like the rest of the masses but C’mon man!  There’s only one Italian Stallion!

I just felt Awkward when “Satan Bite’s the dust” had an on screen kiss.

#3.  “Testamints” The Alternative to “Mints” ???

I’m rolling my eyes so let’s move on…

#2.  “Guitar Praise” the alternative to “Guitar Hero”

Watch Video

I debated about putting this one up cause I know people who have this but the truth of the matter is?  It’s just not quality and it still falls in a category of being there “just because”

#1.  “Holy Land” the alternative to “Disneyland.

Do I need to explain this one?

This post is not meant to offend but to poke fun at a culture that was built by man not God.

I think we should understand that  We’re IN the world not of it.  But we are in it.  I won’t live in a bubble.

Seriously, My ears are bleeding…

This is a TRAIN WRECK!  I know what it’s like to have to sing when your voice is about gone…
I don’t think this is what’s happening here.  Whitney Houston has LOST IT!  Wow.  Sad.

Sometimes you have to let go…

Have you ever had something that you wanted so bad but you just couldn’t reach it?
In my life I’ve had opportunities that were enticing but risky.  When I think of these moments, my mind turn to Indiana Jones.
He wants the Grail SO bad!  His life is about finding these amazing treasures.  But he would have had to risk everything to reach it.
Now, I believe that risks is worth taking here and there but not at the expense of everything…

I’ve seen people risk it all and come out smelling like a rose.  I’ve also seen people lose everything.
I Guess in the end you have to be like Kenny…  You got to know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em,

(Cheesy but true)

I love doing this.

So I have this thing I do…
When I see Dodger Merchandise I hide the logo.  Maybe it’s because the Dodgers think they’re the ONLY team in So Cal.  When in reality the Angels have been a power house for the last 10 years, but they still get no respect.  So I guess it’s my way of dealing with this frustration.

Radio Silence

How long could you go under radio silence? No trasmissions of any kind. Taking a digital vow of silence?

I comunicate through technology, so for me, this would be tough. “Hot Tub Time Machine’s” trailer shows a young man who’s traveled back in time, asking a girl from 1986 if he can have her e-mail address or cell number to which she replies with confusion… he then asks “how do I get in touch with you?” she replies “Come find me”. he says “that sounds exhuasting”.

We rely on digital communication so much that we forget what life was like before. Hard. I mean literally every Sienfield episoide would have no plot if they had the Internet or cell phones or social networking! I can’t imagine life without technology!

So yes, I would hate radio silence.
just sayin’

How ’bout you?

iLost

Apple_bluetoothYesterday Kylie and I picked up a TON of stuff for this year’s Summer Camp.  Among one of our stops we found ourselves at IKEA.  I was in a deep phone conversation using my bluetooth in the store.  The person on the line complained about not being able to hear me, so I switched to just the phone and stuck the bluetooth in my pocket.  I continued on the phone till we were in the car.  I then realized that I had to go hands free because of the CA state law concerning cell phones.  I reached  in my pocket and couldn’t find the bluetooth.  So I turned the car around and headed back to IKEA.  I thought I’d start in the parking lot (WHICH WAS HUGE)  I couldn’t really even remember what section I parked in.  So while still in this deep conversation I get out of my car and start looking for my bluetooth in the parking lot.  I looked for about 5 to 10 min. when way across the way I saw a little black thing in the road.  I don’t know how, but I found my bluetooth and it was completely fine.   It must have fallen out when I was getting my keys.  Bad things seem to happen to me, but always END UP in my favor.  Thanks God.

Power of the Arts

hollywood_sign

Since I’ve been in MO a ton of things have happened in the entertainment world.  Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Ed McMahon & Billy Mays have all passed away.  I actually found out half of these through Twitter and at first thought “this can’t be right”.  I am very sorry to see these entertainers go.  These very talented people will be missed.

Losing great artist and actors always feels weird because you feel connected through their art form.  This made me think about how amazing the power of the arts can be.

The reason the arts are so powerful is because they were created by God.  What amazes me is the amount of churches that have abandoned the arts because they feel it isn’t of God.  This couldn’t be farther from the truth.  It’s just the world has felt the power of the arts and have used them for selfish things so the church has thrown out the baby with the bath water.  I feel it’s time we dive back into the arts head first.  It’s one of the God given gifts that connects us through the human spirit.

Getting a little more handy…

electrical_nut

The last month or so I’ve had to do some light electrical work around the house…  I’m actually enjoying it.  I’ve hung a ceiling fan, 2 light fixtures & did a “Swag” on a chandelier.  I know that those things aren’t really difficult, but you have to know that I’m not “THAT GUY”, who knows how to do all that kind of stuff.  I’m more of a Graphics/Music guy, so for me it’s a big deal!

What is an area in your life you wish you were stronger in?
